Bring an authentic slice of the Balearics to your home

We’ve teamed up with creative drinks company and the original sangria-in-a-pouch creators Balearic House Drinks Company to bring you a step-by-step guide to creating an authentic slice of the White Isle in your garden room or home.

The Balearic Islands have been one of the main places we’ve been dreaming about during lockdown - the picture postcard sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, dramatic landscapes, historic culture, and clubbing in the hotspots of Ibiza, Majorca, Menorca and Formentera.

But if we can’t make it to the lands of sun, sea and sangria just yet, then we will just have to recreate a little piece of the Balearics in our own home!

We’ve teamed up with creative drinks company and the original sangria in a pouch creators Balearic House Drinks Company to bring you a step-by-step guide to creating an authentic slice of the White Isle in your garden room or home.

And to top it off, we are offering you the chance to win a bumper Balearic House x Baltic Bespoke prize!

Competition will be launched on Baltic Bespoke’s Instagram page on Saturday 26 June 2021 and closes on Friday 2 July 2021.

Clare Wilson, co-founder of Balearic House Drinks Company, explains how to put together the perfect Ibiza style evening, inspired by the laid back bars, hippy vibes, and house music of the White Isle.

Set the scene with interior styling

The simplest way to recreate a taste of Ibiza in your home or garden is by using accessories that you can switch up and change whenever you want to freshen up the look.

Use cushions and lots of them! Drape throws in different fabrics (preferably with tassels) across furnishings and try to mix up textures and patterns but keep to a similar colour palette. Earthy colours look great with natural cane or rattan furniture.

Add wicker or rattan light shades and candle holders to your space, and try to mix it up with a variety of heights and styles. They look great if group them together to create that eclectic Ibiza style.

When it comes to plants, its the more the merrier - real or fake it’s up to you! Try using Ferns, Monstera, or anything that looks like a palm, and if it suits your budget, you can add Olive trees as statement pieces. You can also keep it simple with small succulents and cactus, which look really good on tables dotted amongst candles.

To create just the right mood in the evening, focus on creating warm, soft lighting. Use a selection of candles on tables, in different styles of holders, echoing the colours and textures of the textiles you have used. Lanterns add a lovely glow, especially placed on the floor near seating, and strings of globe lights or paper ball lights also add to the ambiance.

Impress with authentic food and drink

Sharing boards filled with Spanish charcuterie are perfect for an Ibizan night at home.

Use a selection of meats including slices of Serrano ham, Iberico and chorizo, plus a mix of Spanish Cheese, Membrillo and crackers. Include some slices of sourdough bread, and bowls of Alioli, balsamic, and olive oil for dipping. Finish off with bowls of Olives...we love Gordal!

Wash this all down with jugs of Sangria...the perfect drink to share with family and friends. Traditional Red is always a favourite but White and Rose are more contemporary ways of enjoying this Spanish classic.

Create the mood with Balearic beats

To finish off creating Ibiza at home you need music - those summery Balearic beats that instantly make you feel like you’re back on the White Isle. For chilled out vibes look no further than Cafe Del Mar compilations, all available to stream. They also do a live stream on Youtube so you can watch the sunset in real time while listening to Cafe Del Mar live radio!

Balearic House Drinks Company also have a range of playlists that encapsulate those gorgeous summery Ibiza vibes, all available on Spotify.
